What an extraordinary area. One of the locations I visited, Camas Na Muic, is a simply superb location. A sandy bay that is usually beautifully lit by early morning light during the winter months.
A rocky outcrop on the right side of the bay is ideal for creating images with splashing waves. I spent 3 lovely hours there during a freezing winter's morning around sunrise; a recommended location.
I know the days are a bit short this time of year and time spent in hotels can sometimes be frustrating. However, the time you spend outdoors making images, more than wipes out any frustrations, even when one has to deal with freezing conditions.
You can be outdoors from sunrise until sunset as the sun is very low in the sky and the light remains constantly warm and sweet, well, apart from a couple of hours in mid day.
