There are places that seem almost too perfect to be real, and Belvedere Farmhouse in Val d’Orcia is one of them. I had seen countless images of this spot, yet standing there in the cool morning air, watching the landscape slowly come to life, was something else entirely.
The sky was already shifting from deep blue to fiery orange as I set up my camera. A thin veil of mist lingered in the valleys, softening the rolling hills and adding a sense of depth and mystery to the scene. The farmhouse, perched atop its small hill and lined with elegant cypress trees, looked timeless—like something from a Renaissance painting.
As the sun edged closer to the horizon, the colours intensified, casting a warm glow over the land. I framed the composition carefully, making sure to balance the farmhouse against the layers of hills stretching into the distance. The challenge was capturing the essence of the moment—the tranquillity, the perfect harmony of nature and human touch, the feeling of being entirely present in this magical landscape.
I pressed the shutter, knowing this was a scene I would not forget. The Val d’Orcia never disappoints, and on this particular morning, it felt like Tuscany was offering up one of its finest performances.
